Our Story

Placing a flower in a flower arrangement

My Flower Journey

It began with a fence around the entire perimeter of our yard. And it began with a dream to grow flowers that create smiles. Who can resist the colorful whimsy of a garden of flowers. I can’t!

Vegetables are pretty easy to grow. The seeds are large and mostly they’re happy tucked in the dirt with plenty of water and sunny warmth. Flowers, on the other hand, can be divas, with seeds so small that a thousand will fit in the palm of your hand. Some want light to germinate, some want it dark. Some want it cold first, then warm. Some flower bulbs are bitter or poisonous, and others a squirrel will stare you down as he eats that bulb you just planted like a tasty apple.

This is my magical flower journey from seed to vase. I’m a farmer florist growing the ingredients for my floral creations.

I’m not a traditional flower shop, but I do have a Flower Cupboard stocked with small posies of seasonal flowers from my gardens. It’s located on Clallam St., about half a block from Roosevelt St. near Chetzemoka Park. Open seasonally Wednesday-Saturday.
